  About Mentoring Canada

Welcome to Mentoring Canada, a not-for-profit informational site that provides resources and training to mentoring organizations and other charities. This site contains on-line interactive Training, along with a Library of downloadable materials.

About Mentoring Canada

Mentoring Canada is a program of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, made possible only through the support of the Muttart Foundation. Its primary focus is to promote and support mentoring initiatives in communities across Canada.

All community organizations, corporations and others interested in mentoring are invited to use this website of resources and training materials to further their efforts in support of our young people through the provision of quality mentoring programs.

Our Mandate

The Mentoring Canada website will provide up-to-date, relevant resources for mentoring organizations, and other service delivery organizations, through an on-line Library of downloadable materials and interactive training modules.

Submitting Material for Use in the Mentoring Canada Library

We welcome submissions to the on-line Library, and encourage organizations to send in material. All submissions will be subject to the following Acceptance Guidelines;

Any organization or individual that would like to submit material to the Mentoring Canada on-line Library may do so by following this procedure:

  1. e-mail an electronic copy of the document (in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint or PDF) to mcrc@bbbsc.ca
  2. The following information must be included in order for the document to be considered:
    1. Author;
    2. Document Title;
    3. Copyright holder;
    4. Date of publication;
    5. Express permission from the copyright holder that Mentoring Canada may post this document;
    6. Name and contact information of individual sending the document.

If all relevant information is received, the document will then be reviewed by a Committee comprised of representatives from across Canada. The Committee will consider the following:

  • material age
  • material length/size (documents over 200 pages may be too large for on-line posting)
  • relevance and usefulness to other organizations
  • consistent with the spirit of mentoring and non-profit administration

If a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada member agency submits material, it must be in compliance with the National Standards to be considered for posting in the Library.

Mentoring Canada will not in any way alter submitted material. Mentoring Canada reserves the right to decide the appropriate category in which to place the material, and remains the sole owner of the Library. Decisions of the Committee to accept or not accept material are final.
