Volunteer
Canada has taken a leadership role in presenting screening guidelines
for volunteers. The "Safe Steps Screening Program" offers some
basic information your mentoring program needs to screen its mentors and
other volunteers.
To learn more about protecting your program's children and
youth, you are going to study the safe steps of screening.
- Your study session takes place at the "Safe
Steps Screening Program" site. (
this page will open in a separate browser window to allow you to see
both the Safe Steps and this quiz at the same time.)
- Study the information presented in the "Background" and
"Safe Steps" sections. (To get to the "Safe Steps"
section from the "Background" section, just click on Safe
Steps in the left hand menu)
- Return to this page and show how much you know by taking the quiz
below.
- Type in the correct answers to the questions in the spaces provided.
(In providing your answers, please attempt to use the exact language
used in the "Safe Steps" --
you can cut and paste text from the "Safe Steps" page into
the answer box.)
